Fireworks are almost guaranteed when the fighters from UFC 298 take to the stage for the official press conference in Anaheim, California today (midday AEDT).
Australia’s UFC superstar Alex Volkanovski has copped plenty of verbal barbs from his upcoming opponent Ilia Topuria in the build-up to the fight, and the Georgian contender is sure to fire up again when they face off ahead of their headline title bout.

Earlier this week, a clip posted by the UFC showed the pair having a run-in at the fighters’ hotel when Topuria walked around wearing a title belt – despite, of course, Volk being the champ.
“May as well make the most of it, eh?” Volkanovski said. “Fight week. Yeah, yeah, you may as well wear it now. Wear it now.”
“I’m going to take a couple pictures,” Topuria replied.
“Yeah, take pictures now because you won’t have it after,” Volkanovski responded.

Meanwhile, fellow Aussie Robert Whittaker gets his chance to trade words with former title contender Paulo Costa.
And Henry Cejudo has already said he’ll ‘100 per cent’ retire should he lose to Merab Dvalishvili, claiming: “This is all or nothing” as he hopes a win earns a shot at the bantamweight belt.
