Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone!  Welcome this morning to Sunday Mornings at Home.

Sunday Mornings at Home is a weekly lifestyle post where I cover a little of this and a little of that.

Today, we have home decorations from a couple of ladies in this blog community; a big announcement from me; and a celebration of heritage.

So, get a warm morning beverage and a cozy spot and let’s enjoy Sunday mornings at home together.

SUNDAY MORNINGS AT HOME – ST. PATRICK’S DAY

I should have picked up a hat for Tux because we have more to celebrate this year.

My side of the family on my father’s side is Scotch/Irish.

We have always believed that my husbands family hailed from England…his mom even found a castle there in the name.

But, this week, this happened….

My daughter’s family spent Spring Break in New York City, and paid a stop to Ellis Island.

She discovered a couple of pages of our family name who came to America through Ellis Island, from Ireland and Germany.

Bring out the shamrocks and bagpipes…we have even more reason now to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!

No matter your heritage, use this day as a way to celebrate family and heritage.

I love that my three grandsons experienced this moment of seeing family names from their dad and mom on these lists.

SUNDAY MORNINGS AT HOME – HOME DECOR FROM YOU

The only thing I added to my spring home decor this past week were theses beautiful tulips.

They brought me such joy.

I also received joy from these two ladies…..

Kathie changed out her mantel and hung one of her personal Fiber Art pieces.

This one is called SONG OF JOY.  She loves to here the Carolina Wren singing all day where she lives.

Kathie….you are quite talented…I love this!

These next three pictures are the home decorations from Niki.

I love how she has combined springtime with the reason for the Easter season…so lovely.

Well done, Niki.

I would love to hear from others…especially with Passover and Easter decor…but also with spring home refreshing decor….or recipes…or anything else.

Just send your photos and content to over50feeling40@gmail.com.

Wednesday, I will also share a note that Kathie sent.

SUNDAY MORNINGS AT HOME – HIT A RECOVERY MILESTONE

Sunday Mornings at HomeSunday Mornings at Home

I began this year focusing on strength…with a boot on my foot.

In order to recover from anything, strength is required from the inside to the outside.

I have listened to my surgeon and PT doctor and followed all instructions…and…last Thursday….

I was given a series of milestones to hit and exercises to follow at home…and they paid off.

I GRADUATED PHYSICAL THERAPY!  Woo Hoo!

At Texas Physical Therapy Specialists, they host a little graduation ceremony and give us a tee shirt…I will miss seeing the people I met there!

The last leg will be soon when I have a final X-ray and meeting with the surgeon, and hopefully he will declare…we are done.

My husband asked me if I am aware of the missing toe…and I honestly am not.  The foot feels better and better every day.

Thank you for the support everyone.

SUNDAY MORNINGS AT HOME – A FASHION REMINDER

Sunday Mornings at HomeSunday Mornings at Home

I wore this outfit this week from my closet.  The JJILL linen cardigan has been in my wardrobe a very long time.

But, I wanted to remind you that it was purchased as a light pink cardigan for spring.

When my wonderful color professional, Annie Castano, convinced me that I am in the Vibrant Autumn palette, I told her I was sad about losing some items.

Annie said….DYE THEM!  Many of your older clothes can be dyed.

She introduced me to DYLON PODS and you literally toss them in a front load washing machine with the garment…and the machine does the rest.

I took this cardigan from light pink to terra cotta red and I wear it often.

I also took a couple of white tops to off white tops.  I only destroyed one item…and made sure that I was willing to let go in case that happened to others.

But, it worked on 98% of the garments I dyed….it was fun.

SUNDAY MORNINGS AT HOME – FOOD UPDATES

South Texas is not really a great location for those with allergies…like most of the people in my family!

Monthly allergy shots at Juniper Allergy have made a HUGE difference in my life after three sinus surgeries.

One little change for us has been to use the local honey from our Texas Wildflowers which are so beautiful right now.

It is said to help those of us allergic to the wildflowers…so I am game for anything.

My biggest issue this time of year is OAK…our oak trees throw off the pollen everywhere you go.

I saw the cute little honey dispenser at Marshalls.

Last week some asked about Cilantro Rice.

This is the brand I most often use from the grocery store….it is made for microwave, but I have warmed and even fried it in pots on the stove.

Thank you for joining us today on Sunday mornings at home.  I hope your day is full of God’s blessings and smiles.  Now make sure that you….
