Late Mail: The Broncos are reportedly plotting a bench switch. That is according to The Courier Mail, who are reporting Martin Taupau will come onto the pine. Xavier Willison will reportedly be the man to make way and won’t feature in the Las Vegas clash. Taupau was reportedly running with the NRL squad, while Willison did majority of his reps in the opposed squad at training at the Los Angeles Rams facility. Broncos great Corey Parker believes the move is surprising, considering how soon it was after the initial team was named. “This is an interesting one,” Parker told SEN. “Coach Kevin Walters had previously shown his hand and gone with some youth. In the space of 24-48 hours, Walters seems to have flipped that on it’s head and gone with Taupau.” Parker went onto say that Willison can add a “point of difference to the Broncos fearsome forward pack. “He’s (Willison) is primed for what I believe will be a big year,” Parker said. “He’s a big body and he brings a point of difference with his size and footwork. Walters clearly thinks that the middle of the field is where the game will be won or lost.”
