Australia vs New Zealand, live cricket scores, second Test day two: Start time, stream, updates

[ad_1]

Marnus Labuschagne will resume his hunt for a drought-breaking big score on Saturday as Australia look to recover from a wobbly start with the bat in the second Test and post a big first innings lead over New Zealand.

Day one in Christchurch was yet another for the bowlers in this series with the Black Caps rolled for 162 in just 45.2 overs.

Australia has fared better, but was far from convincing in reaching 4-124 at stumps.

Australia will resume batting on day two with the under-pressure Labuschagne on 45*, and nightwatcher Nathan Lyon on 1*.

Labuschagne has scored a combined 22 runs in his last three Tests, after putting up three consecutive half-centuries against Pakistan over the new year.

But Labuschagne scored just one century in 2023 – at Manchester against England during the mid-year Ashes series – and will be desparate to reach three figures.
