The NSW government has announced the NRL and NRLW grand final will once again be played in Sydney after reaching an agreement with the ARLC.

Accor Stadium in Sydney Olympic Park will play host to the end of season showcase, scheduled to be played on Sunday, October 6 this year.

In a statement released on Monday, NSW Premier Chris Minns revealed he was ecstatic his state would once again be home to the pair of finals.

“NSW is the home of the NRL and there is no better city in the world to host another incredible grand final showdown,” state premier Chris Minns said in a statement.

“The NRL grand final is one of our country’s greatest annual sporting events and I can’t wait for a whole new generation of footy fans to get to experience it right here in NSW.”

ARLC chairman Peter V’landys also said: “Confirming the 2024 Grand Final will be held in Sydney provides certainty to NRL clubs, sponsors and broadcasters — but most importantly of all, it’s exciting news for NRL fans.

“The NRL and NRLW premiership seasons will culminate at Accor Stadium on 6 October — and we can’t wait to watch it unfold.”

The Daily Telegraph reported it cost the NSW government $10 million to secure the grand final hosting rights.

V’landys and Minns are also expected to negotiate a longer-term deal which could see suburban grounds receive funding alongside a cash injection to the NRL.
